Most recently she has embraced immersive storytelling through VR technology, but it is not technology alone upon which her practice hinges. The Greek Pavilion in the current Venice Biennale plays host to Alavanou’s isolated pods that draw viewers into the world of a Romani community living on the outskirts of Athens.
