‘Geppetto’s Clocks’, Single chanel digital video installation with sound, 4′ 48” loop, 2005

The figurine clocks are the only disturbingly violent element in Geppetto’s house in Disney’s animation of Pinocchio. Superimposing them onto a personal family photo and domestic scene, I wanted to create a series of memes that are too serious to be fanny. The work is made before the language of “reels”, “stories” and viral memes has penetrated our lives.
